Telnet Interface

The CDD-56X provides a Telnet interface for two primary functions:
1. Equipment M&C via the Command Line Interface (CLI) application. For further details
about using this application, see Chapter 8. IP MODULE CLI AND TELNET
OPERATION.
2. Equipment M&C via Comtech EF Data's CDM/CDD NMCS application and associated
Remote Control protocol. For further details about using this application, see Appendix
D. CDM/CDD NMCS PROTOCOL.
The Telnet interface requires login at the Administrator and Read/Write User Access Levels. An
example of the login process is shown here:
Once logged into the Telnet interface as the Administrator, the NCMS interface defined in
Appendix D. CDM/CDD NMCS PROTOCOL is accessible, as shown here:

Telnet Operation via HyperTerminal

There is a disadvantage when using Windows Command-line as a Telnet client. Since Command-
line cannot translate a '\r' (i.e., carriage return or "CR") to a '\r\n' (i.e., CR+line feed "LF") for
the messages coming from Telnet Server, any multi-line Target-to-Controller response (e.g., the
