Connection of a dedicated external brake resistor FR-ABR
(FR-E720S-030SC or more, FR-E740-016SC or more)
Install a dedicated brake resistor (FR-ABR) outside when the motor is made to run by the load, quick
deceleration is required, etc. Connect a dedicated brake resistor (FR-ABR) to terminal + and PR (resp.
P/+ and PR). (For the locations of terminal + and PR (resp. P/+ and PR), refer to the terminal block layout
(section 3.3.2).)
Set parameters below (refer to section 6.9.2).

CAUTION:

● The brake resistor connected should only be the dedicated brake resistor.
● Do not remove a jumper across terminal + and P1 (resp. P/+ and P1) except when connecting
a DC reactor.
● The shape of jumper differs according to capacities.
