4. Install the spring into the clutch assembly with the
spring tab in the clutch groove.

5. Place the cam in the movable sheave making sure the
"X" timing marks are aligned.

6. Using a suitable compressor, put a light amount of
pressure compressing the driven clutch; then install
the four cap screws securing the cam to the driven
clutch. In a crisscross pattern, tighten to 47 in-lb
(5.3 N-m).

CLUTCHES
Installing
1. Place the drive clutch onto the PTO shaft of the
engine; then insert the cap screw with washer and
hand tighten. Apply a light coat of grease to the inner
most splines of the transaxle input shaft; then place
the driven clutch onto the input shaft of the transaxle;
then secure the drive and driven clutches with the
Drive and Driven Clutch Holder Tool.
2. Tighten the drive clutch cap screw to 60 ft-lb
(81.6 N-m); then remove the Drive and Driven
Clutch Holder Tool.
NOTE: The arrows on the drive belt should point in
direction of engine rotation (forward).
3. Place the drive belt over the drive clutch and put over
the top of the driven sheaves.

4. Push in on the outer portion of the driven clutch
while rotating counterclockwise. Insert the cap screw
with the washer bevel cup side toward the clutch and
hand tighten with no tools.
