In the Event of Fire or Disconnection

Outbreak of Fire When Using the VGDT Model Base Unit

When the detector detects a fire, the system
reports this detector activation.
●
The following events occur when the fire
detector activated alarm time (between
approximately 2 to 5 minutes) elapses.
■ If the detector remains activated
The alarm changes to the fire confirmation
alarm. ( Page 157)
■ If the detector has reset but the alarm is still
sounding
The alarm changes to the fire confirmation
alarm. ( Page 157)
■ If the detector has been reset and the alarm
has stopped
Lighting or flashing of devices and screen
displays turn off. (fire reset)

How to stop the alarm sound
● Press the STOP ALARM button on the base
unit.
Pressing the STOP ALARM button on the
call sub-base unit with monitor does not
stop the alarms on other equipment.
Procedures during alarms
●
Immediately move to the source of the fire
to confirm the current situation. Perform
initial fire extinguishing procedures, report
the fire to the authorities, evacuate the
premises, and perform any other
procedures as appropriate.
● Press the FIRE CONFIRM button on the
base unit once you have confirmed the
outbreak of a fire. Inform those in other
condominium units of the fire outbreak.
Cautions
● Using gas or kerosene stoves directly
underneath a detector may cause false
detections.
● Large amounts of smoke or steam caused
by cooking meat or fish may cause false
detections.

Setting can be configured to a value between
approximately 2 to 5 minutes in
1-minute increments.
(Default setting: 2 minutes)

company or the company that

If a sprinkler detects a fire, the operation as described in section 2
and subsequent sections will be performed immediately.
2. Fire Confirmation alarm
The fire detector activated alarm changes to the fire confirmation alarm in the following
scenarios.
■ The detector remains activated after the fire
detector activated alarm time has passed.
■ The FIRE CONFIRM button on the base unit
is pressed within the alarm time period.

When the alarm changes to the fire
confirmation alarm, the screen content
and alarm sound also change.
The door phone also sounds an alarm.
●
The fire icon will turn off after
approximately 3 minutes, and the area
around the MENU button will flash in red.
● If the detector is reset from the
integrated control panel or building
receiver in the building manager room,
the alarm stops. Also, the area around
the MENU button, FIRE indicator,
ALARM indicator on the call sub-base
unit, and door phone alarm display
indicator turn off.

The FIRE indicator appears only on the

base unit.
● The area around the MENU button, the
FIRE indicator, the ALARM indicator on
the call sub-base unit, and the door
phone alarm display indicator continue to
flash until the detector resets.

The fire icon can also be turned off
within 3 minutes. ( Page 155)
How to stop the alarm sound
● Press the STOP ALARM button on the
base unit.
Pressing the STOP ALARM button on
the call sub-base unit with monitor does
not stop the alarms on other equipment.
Note If the STOP ALARM button on the base
unit is pressed while the fire icon is
displayed on the sub-screen, the
neighborhood fire alarm will sound
( page 158). In such cases, press the
STOP ALARM button on the base unit
again.

evacuate the premises in a
