Recommended installation
When designing new tanks, an 8 inch still-pipe or larger is recommended. This is
particularly important in tanks with sticky and viscous products. See drawing
D9240041-917 "Recommended still-pipes" for more information on recommended still-
pipes for the Rosemount 5900S. Before manufacturing a new still-pipe, we recommend
that you contact Emerson Automation Solutions / Rosemount Tank Gauging for advice.
For highest performance, the total area of the slots or holes in the still-pipe must not
exceed the values shown in
holes over the entire length of the pipe, regardless of its length. In some cases it is possible
to allow a larger total area than stated in
contact Emerson Automation Solutions / Rosemount Tank Gauging for advice.
