Read the safety information in "Safety" on page v and "Installation guidelines" on page 29.
If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to turn off the server and peripheral devices,
and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.
To install the DVD drive, complete the following steps.
Step 1.
Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see "Removing the left-side cover" on page 49).
Step 2.
Open the bezel (see "Opening the bezel door" on page 47).
Step 3.
Remove the air baffle (see "Removing the air baffle" on page 188).
Step 4.
Remove the fan cage assembly (see "Removing the fan cage assembly" on page 261).
Step 5.
Touch the static-protective package that contains the DVD drive to any unpainted metal surface
on the server; then, remove the DVD drive from the package.
