Permanent-magnet synchronous motors, rotating
Permanent-magnet synchronous motors that have a position encoder are
supported.
Typical applications include, for example, direct drives with torque motors; these
distinguish themselves as a result of the high torque at low speeds. Using these
drives, in appropriate applications, gearboxes and therefore mechanical parts sub-
ject to wear can be eliminated.
Temperature protection can be implemented using a temperature sensor (KTY/
PTC). In order to achieve a high torque accuracy, we recommend that a KTY tem-
perature sensor is used.
Warning
!
A voltage is generated as soon as the motor rotates. When working on the drive
converter, the motor must safely disconnected and locked-out. If this is not
possible, then the motor must be mechanically locked e.g. using a holding brake.
Features
S Field weakening up to approx. 1.2 * rated speed (this depends on the drive
converter supply voltage and the motor data, also refer to limitations/
constraints)
S Flying restart
S Vector closed-loop speed and torque control
S Vector V/f control for diagnostics
S Motor identification
S Automatic rotating encoder adjustment (the zero encoder position is calibrated)
S Speed controller optimization (rotating measurement)
S Thermal protection via temperature sensor (PTC/KTY)
S All encoders that can be connected to an SMC10 or SMC20 are supported.
