12.2 Interface modules for PROFINET IO
Media redundancy
Function for ensuring the network and system availability. Redundant transmission links (ring
topology) ensure that an alternative communication path is made available if a transmission
link fails.

Note
Media redundancy is only possible if the IM 154-4 PN High Feature interface module with
firmware version 7.0.0 is used. The labeling on the connection module may differ if other
product versions are used.
Shared device
IO device which makes its data available to multiple IO controllers.
Note
Please note that the power and electronics modules in a potential group have to be assigned
to the same IO controller so that a load voltage failure can be diagnosed.

Spare part replacement for IM 154-4 PN High Feature
If a spare part replacement is necessary, an IO device in operation must be reset to the
factory settings by using "Reset to factory settings".
