Independent memory mode guidelines:
• Populate identical memory capacity and rank per memory channel and processor.
• Mixing x4/x8, EC4/EC8, 3DS/Non-3DS RDIMM, 4Rank 3DS/8Rank 3DS RDIMM are not allowed in a
system.
• Dual Socket (2P) socket interleaving (NPS0, dual socket system as one NUMA node) can be supported
only if:
1. There is an equal number of populated memory channels per socket and equal number of channels
populated in each side of both sockets.
2. All populated memory channels across both sockets are populated with symmetric memory capacity.
3. One of the following configurations is used:
– 12 memory channels populated per socket, 12 channels total.
– 8 memory channels populated per socket, 16 channels total (Channels ABCEGHIK).
– 4 memory channels populated per socket, 8 channels total (Channels ACGI).
