If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use
any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
Install the ES.3 drive backplane module
Follow instructions in this section to install the E3.S drive backplane module.
About this task
Attention:
• Read "Installation Guidelines" on page 45
work safely.
• Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the
server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Procedure
Step 1. If necessary, install the two backplane brackets to the E3.S drive backplane.
a. Align the two tabs on the bottom of the backplane with the slots on the backplane brackets,
and insert them into the slots.
b. Fasten the two screws to secure the two backplane brackets to the backplane.
