Step 3.
Slide the M.2 retainer backward to ensure enough space for the M.2 drive installation.
Step 4.
Install the M.2 drive.
a.
Hold the M.2 drive at an angle, and insert it into the M.2 slot.
b.
Lower the M.2 drive.
c.
Slide the retainer toward the M.2 drive to secure it in place.

• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See
"Power off the server" on page
• Make sure to remove or install memory module 20 seconds after disconnecting power cords from the
system. It allows the system to be completely discharged of electricity and safe for handling memory
module.
• If the server is installed in a rack, slide the server out on its rack slide rails to gain access to the top cover,
or remove the server from the rack. See
• If you are not installing a replacement memory module to the same slot, make sure you have memory
module filler available.
