Description and actions
The states of the BMC status LED are as follows:
• LED on: The BMC is alive.
• LED off: The BMC is not ready or not alive. The LED is
in this state when the server is first connected to AC
power. It does not turn on until the SSP (Synchronous
Serial Port) is ready.
The BMC heartbeat LED helps you identify the BMC
status.
• LED on: The BMC is not alive.
• LED Blinking: The BMC is alive.
• LED off: The BMC is not alive.
The states of the SSP (Synchronous Serial Port) heartbeat
LED are as follows:
• LED on: The SSP is synchronized and ready.
• LED off: The serial port interface is not synchronized
yet.
LED on: an error has occurred to the rear PCIe riser 1.
LED on: an error has occurred to the OCP slot the LED
represents. Complete the following steps:
1. Make sure the PCIe cable is connected to the
appropriate downstream PCIe slot 15-16 or PCIe
connector 1-12.
2. Make sure both ends of the cable are securely seated
in the PCIe slots.
3. Replace the cable.
4. (trained technician only) replace the system board
assembly. See
"System board assembly replacement
(trained technician only)" on page 136
The states of the power LED are as follows:
• Off: No power supply is properly installed, or the LED
itself has failed.
• Flashing rapidly (four times per second): The server
is turned off and is not ready to be turned on. The
power-control button is disabled. This will last
approximately 5 to 10 seconds.
• Flashing slowly (once per second): The server is
turned off and is ready to be turned on. You can press
the power-control button to turn on the server.
• Lit: The server is turned on.
This LED indicates power-on and power-off sequencing.
• LED blinking: The system is functioning properly, and
no action is necessary.
• LED not blinking: (trained technician only) replace the
system board assembly. See
replacement (trained technician only)" on page 136
