The power switch is turned
off automatically
In the following situations, power will
be turned off due to the automatic
power off function.
 The vehicle is left in ACC or ON
(the EV system is not operating) for
more than 20 minutes with the shift
position in P.
 The 12-volt battery is low with the
shift position is in P and the power
switch is in ACC or ON (the EV
system is not operating).
Next time when starting the EV sys-
tem, operate the EV system for
approximately 5 minutes to recharge
the 12-volt battery.
Do not leave the vehicle with the
power switch in ACC or ON for long
periods of time when the EV system is
not operating.
9-10. Items to check before contacting a dealership

If your vehicle overheats

The following may indicate that your
vehicle is overheating.
 The high coolant temperature warn-
ing light comes on.
 A loss of EV system power is experi-
enced. (For example, the vehicle
speed does not increase.)
 "EV System overheated Output
power reduced" is displayed on the
multi-information display.
 Steam comes out from under the
hood.
The radiator coolant is exclusive for radi-
ator usage. Damage may occur when
water or any other type of coolant is
used, so never use any other fluid. When
there is no "Toyota Genuine Traction Bat-
tery Coolant", immediately contact your
Lexus dealer.
