Starting the EV system in an
emergency
Pull the parking brake switch to check
that the parking brake is set.

Pull the parking brake switch to
check that the parking brake is set.
Parking brake indicator will come on.

Check that the shift position is in P.

Change the power switch to

ACC.

Press and hold the power switch for
about 15 seconds while depressing
the brake pedal firmly.
Even if the EV system can be started
using the above steps, the system may
be malfunctioning.
Have the vehicle checked by your
Lexus dealer immediately.

: ACC mode can be enabled/disabled
on the customize menu. (P.597)

: When ACC is disabled, turn the power
switch to ON then OFF, and start the
EV system as described in P.505within
5 seconds.
Starting the EV system when the
electronic key is not operating
normally

Ensure that the shift position is in P
and depress the brake pedal.

Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the power switch.
When the electronic key is detected, a
buzzer will sound and the power switch
mode will change to ON.
If the smart access system with push-but-

Stopping the EV system
Shift the shift position to P, set the parking
brake and press the power switch as you
normally do when stopping the EV system.
Electronic key battery
As the above procedure is a temporary
measure, it is recommended that the elec-
tronic key battery be replaced immediately
when the battery is depleted. (P.523)
Changing power switch modes
Release the brake pedal and press the

power switch in step
above. The EV sys-
tem will not start and the mode will be
changed each time the switch is pressed.
