propagate-metric
Syntax
[no] propagate-metric
Context
config>service>vprn>rip
Description
This command allows the RIP metric to be used to set the MP-BGP MED attribute when RIP is used
as the CE-PE routing protocols for VPRNs. This is similar to the way the OSPF metric can be used to
set the MP-BGP metric when OSPF is used as the CE-PE protocol.
MP-BGP will use the RIP metric to set the MED attribute, this attribute gets flooded through out the
MP-BGP peers and will then be used to set the RIP metric at the other end and re-advertise the RIP
metric to the far-end RIP neighbors.
receive
Syntax
receive {both | none | version-1 | version-2}
no receive
Context
config>service>vprn>rip
config>service>vprn>rip>group
config>service>vprn>rip>group>neighbor
Description
This command configures the type(s) of RIP updates that will be accepted and processed.
If both or version-2 is specified, the RIP instance listens for and accepts packets sent to the broadcast
and multicast (224.0.0.9) addresses.
If version-1 is specified, the router only listens for and accepts packets sent to the broadcast address.
