preferred-lifetime [seconds | infinite]

Description
This command configures the remaining length of time in seconds that this prefix will continue to be
preferred, such as, time until deprecation. The address generated from a deprecated prefix should not
be used as a source address in new communications, but packets received on such an interface are
processed as expected.

seconds — Specifies a decimal time interval in seconds.
infinite — Sepcifies a 0xffffffff value. Dec = 4,294,967,295.

Description
This command specifies the length of time, in seconds, that the prefix is valid for the purpose of on-
link determination. A value of all one bits (0xffffffff) represents infinity. The address generated from
an invalidated prefix should not appear as the destination or source address of a packet.

Description
This command configures how long this router should be considered reachable by other nodes on the
link after receiving a reachability confirmation.
