11. To remove the stator, release the two bolts securing
the cable retainer to the crankcase.

12. Release the three bolts securing the stator to the
crankcase.

13. Withdraw the stator from the crankcase.
Inspection
1.
Inspect the key in the crankshaft for damage and
distortion. Replace the key if necessary.
2.
Inspect the rotor for damage and high spots to the
taper centre. Replace the rotor if necessary.
3.
Inspect the stator for signs of overheating and short!
open circuits. Replace as necessary.
Electrical System
Assembly
1.
Locate the stator to the crankcase.
2.
Apply silicone sealer to the cable grommet and align
the cable to the crankcase exit slot.
3.
Fit the cable retainer bracket, routing the cables as
noted on strip down. Tighten the retainer bolts to
12Nm.

Tighten the stator bolts to
12 Nm.
5.
Assemble the rotor to the keyway on the crankshaft.
6.
Fit the bolt and washer to the threaded hole in the
crankshaft.
7.
Refit tool T3880201 to prevent the crankshaft from
rotating.
8.
lighten the rotor bolt to
120 Nm.

9.
Remove tool T3880201.
10. Incorporating a new gasket, refit the alternator cover
to the rear of the engine.
