Disconnect ECM and proceed to
pinpoint test 1:-

Disconnect sensor and proceed to
- ECM pin Al0
test 2
- ECM pin BOl
- ECM pin B20
Faulty
Rectify fault, proceed to test 5
2 Check cable for short circuit:
OK
Proceed to test 3
- ECM pin A 10 to ground
Short circuit
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
3 Check cable continuity:
OK
Proceed to test 4
- ECM pin BOl to sensor pin 1
- ECM pin B20 to sensor pin 2
- ECM pin A 10 to sensor pin 3
Open circuit
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5

Check cable for short circuit:
OK
Renew throttle position sensor, proceed to
- ECM pin A 10 to ECM pin B01
test 5
- ECM pin A 10 to ECM pin B20
Short circuit
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
5 Reconnect harness, clear fault code and run OK
Action complete - quit test
engine to verify fault cleared
Fault still present
