Ambient pressure sensor circuit short View Il. note "freeze frame" data if
circuit to ground
available.
View Il. note "sensor" data.
Ensure sensor connector is secure.
Disconnect ECM and proceed to
pinpoint test 1:-
PIID8
Ambient pressure sensor circuit, short Disconnect ambient pressure sensor
circuit to supply or open circuit
and proceed to pinpoint test 4:-

I Check cable and terminal integrity:
OK
Disconnect ambient pressure sensor and
proceed to test 2

- ECM pin A23
Faulty
Rectify fault, proceed to test 5
- ECM pin AD?
- ECM pin ADI
2 Check cable for short circuit:
OK
Proceed to test 3
- ECM pin A23 to ECM AD?
Short circuit
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
3 Check cable for continuity:
OK
Renew ambient pressure sensor and proceed
to test 5
- ECM pin A23 to sensor pin 3
Open circuit
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
- ECM pin AD? to sensor pin 2
5
- ECM pin AD1 to sensor pin I
4 Check cable for short circuit:
OK
Renew ambient pressure sensor and proceed
- ECM pin A23 to ECM pin AD1
to test 5
Short circuit
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
5 Reconned harness, clear fault code and run OK
Adion complete, quit test
engine
Fault still present
