Fuel Pump Relay - Rocket III Touring
Fault Code Possible cause Action

Fuel pump relay open circuit, or short Check if pump runs briefly when
circuit to ground
P1232
Short circuit to battery+
Pinpoint Tests
Test
1 Check cable and terminal integrity:
- ECM pin A19
:ECM pin B29
2 Check cable for short circuit:
- ECM pin B29 to ground
3 Check cable continuity:
- ECM pin B29 to fuel pump relay pin 4
- ECM pin A 19 to fuel pump relay pin 6
4 Check cable for short circuit:
- ECM pin B29 to ECM pin A 19
5 Reconnect harness, clear fault code and run
diagnostic tool function test to verify fault
cleared

secure.
Disconnect ECM and proceed to
pinpoint test 1:-
Disconnect fuel pump relay and
proceed to pinpoint test 4:-

Disconnect fuel pump relay and proceed to
test 2
Rectify fault, proceed to test 5
Proceed to test 3
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
Proceed to test 4
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
Proceed to test 5
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test
5
Action complete - quit test
