About this task
Following are the basic tasks for removing and replacing the chassis with its
backplane. Since chassis replacement is a collaborative process between customers
and SSRs please review the information provided in "Customer replacement
responsibilities" on page 193 and "IBM service replacement responsibilities" on
page 203 to gain an understanding of your specific responsibilities for this
procedure.
Note: The device must be removed from the fabric and powered off to perform
these tasks. Contact your support provider if you have any questions about
whether the chassis requires replacement.

For safety reasons, the ESD wrist strap should contain a series 1
megaohm resistor.
