Procedure
1. Log into the device using one of the following methods:
v A serial console connection to the active CP blade. The active CP is indicated
by an illuminated blue LED on the blade front panel.
v A Telnet session using the chassis management IP address.
2. Log into the device using admin. If you have not changed the default password,
usepassword.
3. Enter the date command, using the following syntax:
date "mmddHHMMyy"
The values are:
v mm is the month; valid values are 01 through 12.
v dd is the date; valid values are 01 through 31.
v HH is the hour; valid values are 00 through 23.
v MM is minutes; valid values are 00 through 59.
v yy is the year; valid values are 00 through 99 (values greater than 69 are
interpreted as 1970 through 1999, and values less than 70 are interpreted as
2000 through 2069).

Setting the time zone

About this task
The default time zone is Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The time zone needs
to be set only once because the value is stored in nonvolatile memory. Use the
following procedure to set the time zone. The time zone change will take affect
after the next system reboot.
Procedure
1. Log into the device using one of the following methods:
v A serial console connection to the active CP blade. The active CP is indicated
by an illuminated blue LED on the blade front panel.
v A Telnet session using the chassis management IP address.
2. Log into the device using admin. If you have not changed the default password,
use password.
3. Use one of the following steps for the tsTimeZone command.
v Enter tsTimeZone --interactive command, enter the appropriate number as
shown in the following example, then follow prompts.
sw0:admin> tstimezone --interactive
Please identify a location so that time zone rules can be set correctly.
Please select a continent or ocean.
1) Africa
2) Americas
3) Antarctica
4) Arctic Ocean
5) Asia
6) Atlantic Ocean
7) Australia
8) Europe
