Status Indicators

This section explains the indication and meanings of the server lamps.
Power/Sleep Lamp ( )
The power/sleep lamp is on (green) when power is applied to the server and the power
button is on. It is off if power is not applied to the server. It flashes green when the
server is in a power-saving mode (sleep mode).
operating system supports the power-saving feature. Some
operating systems allow you to set the server to automatically
enter the power-saving mode when no access is made to the
server for a certain period of time or to select the power-saving
mode with a command.
Status Lamp ( )
The status lamp is on (green) when the system is successfully working. If an error is
detected it flashes amber.
Disk Access Lamp (
The disk access lamp indicates the status of the hard disks mounted in the 3.5-inch
device bay. The lamp flashes green each time access is made to the hard disk.
When the disk access lamp turns amber, it indicates that a hard disk failure has
occurred. For hot-plug SCSI hard disk drives, check the hard disk lamp for the status of
the failing hard disk.

Drive Access Lamps

The drive access lamp of the floppy disk drive and the CD-ROM drive is on while the
drive is accessed.
