2-10 General Description
POWER/SLEEP Lamp
The POWER/SLEEP lamp lights green while power is on to the CPU blade. The lamp is off if
power is not supplied to the system.
If the lamp blinks green, the system has entered a sleep state. Press the POWER switch on the CPU
blade to return the power to the normal state. Then the lamp lights green.

STATUS Lamp

While the CPU blade operates normally, the STATUS lamp lights green. If the STATUS lamp is off,
lights amber, or blinks amber, an error has occurred in the system.
Next, the indication states of the STATUS lamp, their meanings, and the actions against the states
are described.
If an error occurs, contact the maintenance service representative.
NOTE:
Utility installed, you can view the error log to identify the cause of a
trouble.

Status
Color
Meaning
On
Green
Operates normally.
Blinking
Green
Memory is degraded.
Memory in which the error occurs is used
forcibly.
Correctable memory errors occur frequently.
The CPU is degraded (in 2-CPU
configuration).
The CPU in which the error occurred is used
forcibly (in 1-CPU configuration).
Off
The power is off.
Under POST
An error occurred in the CPU.
A CPU bus error occurred.
An error occurred on a bus between chip
sets.
Forced DC power-off occurred due to a CPU
thermal error.
Watchdog timeout occurred.
An uncorrectable error is detected in memory.
A PCI system error occurred.
A PCI parity error occurred.
An SMI timout error occurred.
Under memory dump request
If the server has the NEC ESMPRO or Off-line Maintenance
Action
Check the DIMM installation
status.
Check the CPU installation
status.
Turn on the power.
After POST is completed,
make sure that the lamp lights
green.
1. Turn off the power once and
then on again.
2. If a certain error message
appears on POST screen,
check the message.
3. If no error message
appears, check the system
by using the Off-line
Maintenance Utility.
Wait until dump collection is
terminated.
