Starting and Ending the System Diagnostics

There are two ways to diagnose the CPU blade: using the local console (keyboard) connected to the
blade assembly unit, and using the management PC via the serial port (remote console).
The procedures to start the diagnostics program are as follows:
IMPORTANT:
mentioned in Chapter 6 "NEC EXPRESSBUILDER" in the way of
communicating in remote console. Use the COM port to execute
System Diagnostics with remote console. The LAN connection must
not be used for System Diagnostics.
1.
Shutdown the OS, and turn off the CPU blade.
2.
Disconnect the target CPU blade from the network by powering off the Switch kit to
which the target CPU blade is connected, or by disabling the LAN port of the Switch kit.
3.
Power on the CPU blade.
4.
Use the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM to reboot the CPU blade.
The procedure to start the CPU blade from the local console differs from the one from the
remote console. See Chapter 6 "NEC EXPRESSBUILDER" for details.
The display unit connected to the blade assembly unit displays "NEC
EXPRESSBUILDER Top menu" when the CPU blade is started using the NEC
EXPRESSBUILDER.
The display unit of the management PC displays the "NEC EXPRESSBUILDER Main
menu" when the CPU blade is started from the console of the blade assembly unit.
