SOLVING PROBLEMS

When the server fails to operate as expected, see the following to find out your problem and follow
the instruction given before asking for repair.
If the server still fails to operate successfully after solving your problem, note the on-screen
message and contact your service representative.

CPU Blade

Fail to power-on:
Is the proper power supplied to the system?
→ Make sure that the power cord is connected to an AC outlet (or UPS) meeting the
power standard of the Blade Assembly Unit.
→ Use the power cord shipped with the Blade Assembly Unit. In addition, make sure
that the outer cover of the power cord is not broken and the cord at the plug is not
bent.
→ Make sure that the breaker of the connected outlet is set to ON.
→ If the power cord is connected to the UPS, make sure that the power of the UPS is
set to ON and proper power is output from the UPS. Refer to the manual shipped
with the UPS for details.
→ Make sure that the CPU blade is installed correctly.
The CPU blade BIOS SETUP utility allows you to set the feature for power link
with the UPS.

Did you press the POWER switch?
→ Press the POWER switch on the Blade Assembly Unit to power on (with the
POWER lamp going on).
→ Press the POWER switch on the CPU blade to power on (with the POWER lamp
going on).
Does the Blade Assembly Unit contain the required number of power units?
→ See Chapter 3 for the required number of power units, or refer to the User's Guide
coming with the Blade Assembly Unit.
After making sure that the power units required are properly installed and AC
power is supplied to every power unit, power on the Blade Assembly Unit by
using the POWER switch.
Did you power on the Blade Assembly Unit within 15 seconds after AC power was
supplied to each power unit?
→ After making sure that the AC power is supplied to every power unit, power on
each Blade Assembly Unit by using the POWER switch.
