Electric Power

The electric power for the CPU blades is supplied from the Blade Assembly Unit. Refer to the
documentation coming with the Blade Assembly Unit for details.
IMPORTANT:
If more than two CPU blades are installed in the Blade Assembly
Unit, more than one power unit must be installed in the Blade
Assembly Unit. If more than four CPU blades are installed in the
Blade Assembly Unit, more than two power units must be installed
in the Blade Assembly Unit.
Further, one or more power units should be added to the above
number of power units for power redundancy.
N8405-005AF Blade Assembly Unit supports only for
N8405-006AF optional power unit. This enclosure cannot include
N8405-006F optional power unit.
If more than two CPU blades are installed in the Blade Assembly
Unit with a single power unit installed or more than four CPU
blades are installed in the Blade Assembly Unit with two power
units installed, the power shortage error is detected. In the
occurrence of the power shortage error, the power-on operation of a
CPU blade in the DC power-off status cannot turn on the DC power.
If NEC ESMPRO Agent is installed, the OS shutdown is
automatically done at the occurrence of the power shortage error.
Notes in case of the installation of more than one power unit in the
Blade Assembly Unit:
– In order to enable the automatic power-on of the CPU blades at the
re-supply of AC power when [AC-LINK] in the [System
Hardware] menu of BIOS is set to [Last State] or [Power On], the
time difference between the supply of AC power to a single power
unit and that to every power unit must be within about 10 seconds.
If the time difference is longer than about 10 seconds, some CPU
blades may not powered on automatically.
– If the time difference between the supply of AC power to a single
power unit and that to every power unit is longer than about 10
seconds at the start of the AC power supply, some changes of the
power supply status (including the power shortage error) may be
recorded in the event log.
– If the time difference between the stop of the power supply to a
single power unit and that to every power unit is longer than about
three seconds, some changes of the power supply status (including
the power shortage error) may be recorded in the event log.
