5-40 Installing the Operating System
Update from TS Client (Windows 2000)
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the TS client CD-ROM is assigned to a
network driver to be shared. If not, assign the TS client to make it
shared.
1.
Log on to the system with an account with administrator authority to the TS client (such
as administrator).
2.
Insert the CD-ROM "NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM" into the CD-ROM drive of
the TS client.
If the Master Control menu appears on the TS client screen, terminate the menu.
3.
Select [Run] from the [Start] menu, enter "CD-ROM drive name on
TS client:\WINNT\W2K\UPDATE.EXE" on the [Open] box, and click on [OK].
Continue the setup by following the on-screen instructions.
If the following screen appears, click on [Close].
IMPORTANT: To start the re-connection, wait about five minutes.
The terminal service connection is automatically disconnected while
the system update is applied, and the CPU blade is restarted.
Local Update
1.
Log on to the system with an account with administrator authority to the TS client (such
as administrator).
2.
Insert the CD-ROM "NEC EXPRESSBUILDER" into the CD-ROM drive on the CPU
blade.
3.
Left-click on "Setup" in "Master Control Menu" and click on [Update NEC Express5800
System] from the menu.
Continue the setup by following the on-screen instructions.
NOTE: The system is automatically restarted after the system update
is applied.
IMPORTANT: If the server restarts, pull out the NEC
EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM from the CD-ROM drive.
