Platform Leveling
Master Cylinder
The master cylinder acts as a pump for the slave
cylinder. It's part of the closed circuit hydraulic loop
that keeps the platform level through the entire
range of boom motion. The master cylinder is
located at the pivot end of the boom.
How to Remove the Platform
Leveling Master Cylinder
Note: When removing a hose assembly or fitting,
the O-ring (if equipped) on the fitting and/or the
hose end must be replaced. All connections must
be torqued to specification during installation. Refer
to Section 2, Hydraulic Hose and Fitting Torque
Specifications .
1 Raise the boom until the master cylinder is
above the turntable covers.
2 Tag, disconnect and plug the master cylinder
hydraulic hoses. Cap the fittings on the cylinder.
Bodily injury hazard. Spraying
hydraulic oil can penetrate and
burn skin. Loosen hydraulic
connections very slowly to allow
the oil pressure to dissipate
gradually. Do not allow oil to
squirt or spray.
3 Place a 2 x 4 x 48 inches / 5 x 10 x 120 cm
block of wood across the turntable covers.
Position the block under the master cylinder.

4 Remove the pin retaining fastener from the
