How to Install a Type "B"
Flex Plate
1 Install the flex plate onto the engine flywheel
with the rubber vibration isolators towards the
pump.
®
2 Apply Loctite removable thread sealant to the
flex plate fasteners and loosely install the
fasteners.
3 Deutz models: Torque the flex plate mounting
bolts in sequence to 28 ft-lbs / 38 Nm.
Then torque the flex plate mounting bolts in
sequence to 40 ft-lbs / 54 Nm.
Ford and Perkins models: Torque the flex
plate mounting bolts in sequence to
14 ft-lbs / 19 Nm. Then torque the flex plate
mounting bolts in sequence to 20 ft-lbs / 27 Nm.
4 Apply a high viscosity coupling grease
(Genie part number 128025) to the splines of the
pump shaft and flex plate.
Grease Specification
®
Shell Alvania Grease CG, NLGI 0/1 or equivalent.
