3 Thoroughly clean the outside surfaces of the
fuel filter assembly.
4 Place a suitable container under the fuel filter
element.
5 Disconnect and plug the fuel line from the fuel
pump to the fuel filter element.

6 Remove the fuel filter element with a filter
wrench.
7 Apply a thin layer of fuel to the new fuel filter
element O-ring.
8 Install the new fuel filter element and tighten it
securely by hand. Clean up any fuel that may
have spilled during the installation procedure.
9 Use a permanent ink marker to write the date
and number of hours from the hour meter on the
oil filter housing.

Bleed the fuel system:

Note: It is important to allow the starter motor to
cool for 30 seconds between each 15 second
interval of operation.
Note: If the engine runs correctly for a short time
and then stops or runs roughly, check for air in the
fuel system. If there is air in the fuel system, there
is probably a leak in the low pressure side of the
system.
