6 LCM/RCM Replacement

Before You Begin

Required Tools and Materials
You must have the following to complete this procedure:
• A #2 Phillips screwdriver
• A new LCM/RCM module P.N. 90949007

Note:
After removing the new LCM/RCM from its packaging, keep the
packaging to return the old LCM/RCM to Spectra Logic.
Continuing Backups
If the LCM/RCM is malfunctioning, you have no control of the library through the
Library Controller (LC) on the front panel or through the Remote Library Controller
(RLC).
The LCM/RCM also functions as the controller for the robotics, so an LCM/RCM
malfunction may affect robotics communication.
Backups should be stopped prior to replacing the LCM/RCM, and power to the library
should be shut down.
