Determining the Drive's Physical Location

The drive's identifier is formatted as LTO-DRV
of drive installed, and where
library.
For example, a drive identifier of
drive located in Drive Position 4. (Locate this example drive in the diagram below; it
has been underlined).
Use Figure 4-3 to match the drive identifier to the drive's correct physical location in
the library.
Figure 4-3 Drive designations as viewed from the back of the library.
Note:
The drives retain their numbering scheme even if some of the drive
slots are empty.
For example, if you only have three SAIT drives installed, and they
are installed in Drive Positions 3, 4, and 5, they will retain the
identifiers of SAIT-DRV3, SAIT-DRV4 and SAIT-DRV5, respectively.
