Disassembling the Old Assembly

1. Gently lift the picker head to the top of the VAX column and hold it there while
you complete the next step.
2. Attach a small binder clip to secure the belt in place, so that the picker remains
at the top of the shaft.
3. Detach the ribbon cable. To do so in the newer models, first push in the cable
plug edges to release the plug from the connector. Removing the ribbon cable
detaches the assembly from the base, which is the robotic control board. The
figures below show the most recent style of robotic assembly ribbon cabling.

4. Remove the second ribbon cable from the connector, if one is revealed when the
first one is detached and gently moved up and away from the board.
