Updating the CompactFlash Firmware
As of Cisco SAN-OS Release 3.1(3) and NX-OS Release 4.1(1a), you can update the CompactFlash
firmware on selected modules. By default, the firmware update feature is enabled to automatically
update the firmware every 30 days (you can manually set the firmware update intervals by using the
system health module cf-re-flash frequency command in configuration mode). You can also update the
firmware on demand by using the system health cf-re-flash module command in EXEC mode.

To update the CompactFlash firmware on demand, use the system health cf-re-flash module command
in EXEC mode.
switch# system health cf-re-flash module number
Where number indicates the slot in which the identified module resides. For example:
switch(config)# system health cf-re-flash module 4
