portSwap

Swaps area numbers of two ports.
Synopsis
portswap [slotnumber1/]portnumber1 [slotnumber2/]portnumber2
Description
Use this command to swap area numbers for a pair of ports. Both ports must be disabled prior to
executing this command and the port-swapping feature must be enabled using portSwapEnable.
The result of this operation is persistent across reboots and power cycles.
To undo a previous port swap, execute portSwap again on the same two ports.
portSwap information is kept in its own database; it cannot be manipulated by editing the
configuration database displayed by configShow and configUpload.
Note
The execution of this command is subject to Virtual Fabric or Admin Domain restrictions that may
be in place. Refer to chapter 1, "Using Fabric OS commands" and Appendix A, "Command
Availability" for details.

For bladed systems only, specify the slot number of the first port whose area
number is to be swapped, followed by a slash (/).
Specify the number of the first port whose area number is to be swapped,
relative to its slot for bladed systems. Use switchShow to display a list of valid
ports.
For bladed systems only, specify the slot number of the second port whose
area number is to be swapped, followed by a slash (/).
Specify the number of the second port whose area number is to be swapped,
relative to its slot for bladed systems.
