Adding a Host Address Object
To add a host address object:
In the navigation tree, select Object Manager > Address Objects to open the address

Enter a unique name for the address object and select a color to represent the address

Enter a comment about the host (optional).

Select the IP version of the address object: IPv4 or IPv6.

Enter the address that identifies the host on your network:

To identify the host with an IP address, select IP and enter the IP address of the
host. Click Resolve to automatically resolve the domain name for that IP address.
To identify the host with a domain name, select Domain Name and enter the
domain name of the host. Click Resolve to automatically resolve the IP address
for that domain name.
NOTE: When NSM fails to resolve a name for an IPv6 address, it displays the same
address under the domain name. This is an indication that a name is not configured for
this address.
Click OK to add the address object.

The new host address object immediately appears in the Address Tree and Address
Table.
Adding a Network Address Object
To add a network address object:
In the navigation tree, select Object Manager > Address Objects to open the address

object tree.
In the main display area, click the Add icon and select Network.
2.
Enter a name for the address object.
3.
Select the IP version of the address object: IPv4 or IPv6.
4.
Enter the IP address and netmask of the network.
5.
Select a color to represent the address object.
6.
Enter a comment about the network, then click OK to add the address object.
7.
The new network address object immediately appears in the Address Tree and Address
Table.
NSM supports the wildcard masking feature policy on all devices running ScreenOS 6.1
and later, except those with IPv6 addresses.
