3 Type the name of a user for whom you proxy.
4 Click Add User.
5 Click the user's name in the Notification List.
6 Make sure Subscribe to notification and Subscribe to alarms are selected.
You are automatically subscribed to alarms and notification for yourself. If you deselect
Subscribe to alarms and Subscribe to notification for yourself, you no longer receive alarms
and notifications.
You need to repeat the steps in this topic for your username.
7 Click OK.
8.5 Starting Notify without the GroupWise Main
Window
If you want to start Notify without opening the GroupWise window on your desktop, use the -notify
startup option when starting GroupWise. See
page 225 for setup instructions.
When you use the -notify option, GroupWise starts in the background with an icon
taskbar or on the Mac dock at the bottom of your screen.
1 Linux: Right-click the Notify icon on the Linux taskbar to display the Notify menu.
As long as the Notify icon is on the taskbar, you receive notifications, regardless of whether the
GroupWise Main Window is displayed or not.
Mac: Click the GroupWise icon on the dock to open the Notify window
