8. Troubleshooting
8.1. Using the LED of the Hand-E C10 Gripper
When using Hand-E C10 with a USB to RS485 serial converter, the color of the LED on your gripper can provide information on the
issue you are facing.

Off
Solid blue and red
Blinking blue and red
Solid blue
Solid red
Description
Gripper is not powered.
Gripper is in fault.
Gripper is in fault.
No fault, and communicating.
No fault, but gripper is not
communicating.

Solutions
Check gripper power supply and electrical setup. See
Electrical Setup section.
1. Disconnect the communication and power cycle
the gripper. The led should turn solid red when
powered.
2. While powered with red LED, connect the
communication, LED should turn solid blue when
connection is established.
1. Gripper may be in auto-release, wait for auto-
release to be completed, then turn off auto-
release and initialize the gripper.
2. Gripper may have a major fault, check the error
from fault status and contact support.
1. If you can control the gripper from the teach
pendant , check your program structure.
2. If you can not control the gripper from the teach
pendant, contact support.

table below for details.
