6.2.6 Poor source vacuum

Possible causes
The inner source and the mounting flange
assemblies are not fitted correctly.
The reference gas vial is leaking.
The heated transfer line is leaking into the
source.

6.2.7 Failure of rotary pump fuse

The following table details corrective actions for the possible causes of this problem.

Possible causes
The mains voltage exceeds the setting on the
pump.
The rotary pump oil is very dirty.
The rotary pump oil is too low.

6.2.8 Poor resolution

Poor resolution is typically a result of small peaks that broaden or produce shoulders on the main
peaks.
The following table lists the possible causes and corrective actions for this problem.

Corrective actions
Confirm that the inner source and the mounting
flange assemblies are fitted correctly.
Turn off the reference gas and verify that the
gas vial is not leaking. If it is leaking, replace
the seal.
Tighten the heated transfer line nut or replace
the ferrule. See

Corrective actions
Confirm that the mains supply voltage does not
exceed the rating for the pump.
Change the rotary pump oil.
Allow time for oil to drain back in before
topping up.
