To avoid spreading contamination with biologically hazardous, toxic, and corrosive
materials, dispose of all waste materials according to local environmental regulations.
Warning:
To avoid lacerations, puncture injuries, and possible contamination with biologically
hazardous and toxic materials, do not touch the sharp end of the capillary.
Warning:
To avoid burn injuries, take great care while working with the inner source,
the mounting flange, the outer source, the heated transfer line, the GC inlet port, and
the GC ferrule interface; these components can be hot. Wait until these components
have sufficiently cooled before you handle them.
Warning:
To avoid eye injury, wear safety glasses when handling the capillary column,
the ends of which are sharp.
Note:
The following process describes how to replace the ferrule although, with some minor
amendments, you can also apply it to replacing the column. For instructions on how to do this,
refer to the documentation that accompanied the GC oven.
