1.2.1 Software and data system

MassLynx software controls the mass spectrometer and processes data. The MassLynx software
enables these major operations:
• Configuring the system
• Creating GC and MS methods that define the oven and MS operating parameters for a run
• Using IntelliStart software to automatically tune the source, set the instrument resolution and
calibrate the mass spectrometer
• Acquiring data
