GENERAL STATUS
The General Status routine identifies problem areas in the MEGAMUX PLUS system. The General
Status scan should be the first scan selected when scans are initiated; information gained from the
General Status scan allows you to focus quickly on malfunctions with the Specific Scan.
Use the cursor position keys and the Carriage Return key to select General Status from the Status
Scan menu. A display similar to the following appears.

The display reports particular status conditions by placing characters next to the associated channel
or other MEGAMUX PLUS component. The symbols are defined below:
(*) An asterisk indicates that some alarm condition exists in the channel or component. If an alarm
condition exists in a channel, the asterisk is displayed regardless of the state of ACO for the channel.
(-) A dash indicates that Alarm Cut-Off (see Selecting Channel Parameters, Section 5) has been in-
voked for the component, and alarm conditions are not reported.
(U) A U appears for channel slots only. The U indicates that a channel card is in the indicated slot,
but is not entered in the configuration currently active. (If a channel is configured, but no card exists
in the slot, an alarm condition is reported for the channel.)
If dashed lines appear instead of a channel number, the channel is undefined in the active configu-
ration.
