System Overview
If the signal selected as SEND Control l changes state from Off to On, the transition is encoded
and transmitted as channel data. This eliminates virtually all delay in transmitting the signal
change, allowing the channel to support polling and other arrangements requiring fast control sig-
nal transmission.

On condition indicates that DCE device (s switched
network modem) is in a test mode, and therefore
not prepared for normal data transmission.
