Supervisory Port CRT Interface

The MEGAMUX PLUS TDM system is controlled through a CRT inter-face. The interface at one
site is designated as the "master node." The interactive control provided through the master node
interface includes the following features:
The ability to create up to three distinct TDM configurations. These configurations may be
activated and de-activated automatically by specifying a daily time, or time and date; a
configuration may be activated immediately; a configuration may also be stored for
implementation at a later date.
Detailed status reports on the MEGAMUX PLUS system, and on individual MEGAMUX
PLUS components monitored by the CRT interface.
Time-stampedalarmmessagesreportingspecificfailures - in MEGAMUX PLUS components.
The messages may be printed or displayed; they may be organized by component for status
and diagnostic purposes.
Comprehensive system diagnostics. Tests may be selected using internal MEGAMUX PLUS
diagnostic circuitry, or may be run with external test equipment.
Password protection for all system-interfering operations.
A "slave node" supervisory port CRT interface is also available for the opposite-end MEGAMUX
PLUS location. This CRT displays status and alarm information; if the aggregate link between
MEGAMUX PLUS units is disrupted, this supervisory port interface assumes master node status.
The MEGAMUX PLUS system may be configured to function as a multi-drop terminal system.
This feature allows a single CRT to control up to 8 MEGAMUX PLUS systems.

Firmware Revision Levels

Table 1-1 lists all current MEGAMUX PLUS firmware revision levels and the features supported
by each. The firmware revision levels are displayed on either page of the MEGAMUX PLUS Main
Menu. If you are not sure which firmware your system is using, check the Main Menu display.
In the MEGAMUX PLUS several "revision modes" are available with each firmware release. These
provide backward compatibility with older releases, and can be changed by the user in the "Change
Revision Level" field in the Configuration screen. A list of the release and revision modes are given
below:
