If you do not select SAVE CHANGES after modifying channel parameters, and try to use Control
X to exit the Modify/Display TDM Configuration routine, the following message appears:
SAVE CHANGES? Y/N
If N is entered, the Configuration Menu returns to the screen.
If Y is entered, the configuration is checked and stored in the manner described above.
COPYING A CONFIGURATION
A configuration may be created or changed by copying from another existing configuration. The
Copy One TDM Configuration to Another routine allows you to duplicate a configuration and then
edit it, rather than entering every channel parameter for the new configuration. The routine is espe-
cially useful for creating alternative night configurations, or creating new expanded configurations
in advance of the actual equipment installation.
*-COPY CONFIGURATION-*

COPY FROM TDM CONFIGURATION # (1-3)
COPY TO TDM CONFIGURATION# (1-3) COPY
The routine is selected from the Configuration Menu. A menu at the top of the display assigns the
numbers 1, 2, or 3 to each existing configuration. (If the configuration being copied to has not been
assigned a name, the menu identifies it by a default number 1, 2, or 3, as shown in the above exam-
ple. You may want to use the Modify Channel Parameters routine to name a configuration before
performing the copy operation.)
With the cursor positioned at the Copy From line, enter the number associated with the configura-
tion being copied from, followed by the number associated with' the configuration being copied to
{the cursor moves automatically when you make the selections: You may use the cursor position
keys to return to previous entries and change them.) After you enter both numbers, the cursor is po-
sitioned at COPY. Press the Return key to initiate the copy function.
While the copy routine is executing, the following message is displayed on the status line:
CFG MEMORY WRITE IN PROGRESS
Use a Control X to exit from the Copy routine.
ACTIVATING A CONFIGURATION
When a configuration is complete, you specify when it is to become active using the Activate a
TDM Configuration routine. The routine allows you to select four states of activation:
Daily at a Specified Time
With this selection, a configuration becomes active at a specified time each day. This activation cy-
cle is normally used with "day" and "night" configurations, alternately activating two configura-
tions each day.
At a Particular Time and Date
This selection activates a configuration on the specified date and time; the configuration remains
active until superseded by a newly activated configuration. This selection is used if one configura-
tion remains constantly active, or if configurations are alternated between day and night shifts.
