COMMON SET, AUTO FRAME, POWER SUPPLY DIAG ROUTINES

The Diagnostic Functions Menu is the entry point for all of the diagnostic routines. When you select
the Common Set, Auto Frame, or Power Supply diagnostic routine (using the cursor position keys
and the Carriage Return), the Status Scan for that component is displayed at the top of the screen.
The items in the scan are defined in Section 6, Status Scan. The following Diagnostics Menu ap-
pears below the status display:
* DIAGNOSTICS MENU:
ALARM SCAN
ACO
Use the cursor position keys and the Return key to select one of the two routines. If you select the
Alarm Scan, any alarm messages for the component are displayed below the Status Scan.
If you select ACO (Alarm Cutoff) the two possible ACO states are displayed:
*-ALARM GUT OFF MENU-*
ACO OFF
ACO ON
Use the cursor position keys and the Return key to select ACO ON or ACO OFF. The status scan
reports the state of ACO, indicating the success of the operation.

AGGREGATE INTERFACE DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINES

When you select Aggregate from the Diagnostic Functions Menu, the Aggregate Status Scan ap-
pears at the top of the screen, with the following menu below:
ALARM SCAN
DATA PATH TEST
ACO
Use the cursor position keys and the Return key to select one of the three routines. If you select the
Alarm Scan, any alarm messages for the component are displayed below the Status scan.
If you select ACO (Alarm Cut-Off) the two possible ACO states are displayed. Use the cursor po-
sition keys and the Carriage Return key to select ACO on or ACO off. The status scan reports the
state of ACO, indicating the success of the operation.
If you select Data Path Test, the following display appears:
TEST TYPE MENU
STOP TEST
The only type of test available for the Aggregate Interface is a User Data Test. The origin of the test
is always Node M (unless the TDM is in an Out of Sync condition, as described below). You may
select the aggregate interface of Node M as the loopback point; the test will then evaluate (as a min-
imum) the operation of the Common Set modules and the Redundancy Control Plus module. You
may also select the aggregate interface of Node S as the loopback point. With this selection, the ag-
gregate communications link and the Node S Redundancy Control module are verified, as well as
the Node M Common Set and the Redundancy Control module. The loopback paths for the link test
are illustrated by Figure 8-1.
