Status Scan
ACO
ON indicates that Alarm Cut-Off has been selected for the AUTO FRAME Plus module, and no
alarms are being reported. OFF indicates that Alarm Cut-Off has not been selected for the card.
SOFTWARE REV
The revision level of software in Node M or Node S AUTO FRAME modules is reported.
If the end-to-end firmware revision levels are not compatible, the status screen displays a soft-
ware revision error message, as follows:
*- SOFT REV. ERROR - *

Redundancy Update

For Firmware Revision level 3.00, the AUTO FRAME status screen reports the status of the re-
dundant Out-of-Service AUTO FRAME Card. Higher firmware revisions give the status of the
remote redundant AUTO FRAME as well as the local status.
If the local revision is 3.00 and the remote revision X.10 and higher and has local comms enabled
with a similarly functioning redundant AUTO FRAME connected, then the status screen will dis-
play:
*- OUT OF SERVICE COMM UP - * (For versions 3.00 only)
If the Out-of-Service AUTO FRAME card is incorrectly configured, has been removed, is mal-
functioning, or if the backplane wiring is not compatible, then the status screen will display:
* - OUT OF SERVICE COMM DOWN -* (For versions 3.00 only)
Versions X.10 through X.12 contain the status headers "OUT-OF-SERVICE COMM" under
"SOFTWARE REV." The screen displays "UP" or "DOWN" for local and remote nodes respec-
tively.
In revision 3.20 and up, a different indication for the update called "Redundancy Update" exists.
It reads "Local" if the UART method is being used for the given node or "Remote" if the old (ag-
gregate) method must be used. Refer to Section 4, Local OOS AUTO FRAME Updating, for in-
formation about the update methods.
NOTE
If' Revision 2.00 is reported for remote, it should be disregarded.
This is a temporary indication and the true remote revision will
appear shortly.
NOTE
With revision X.10 (and up) software, the local redundant AUTO
FRAME communication technique is the default because the new
"alarm transfer" function requires that local communications are
enabled. If local communications are disabled, then the alarm
transfer capability will not function. Local communications may
still be disabled when the multiplexes uses a backplane that does not
support this feature. The out-of-service card is continually updated
with current alarms when this new location communications
function is used between redundant AUTO FRAMES. The alarm
history of the multiplexes is maintained when the out-of-service
AUTD FRAME is switched into service.
