TID-III Channel Configuration Constraints

You cannot copy a TID-III Data Channel configuration into certain slots using the copy channel
data routine as restrictions exist. As an example, if you copy channel 2 to channel 13, a "Range Er-
ror" message may appear on the supervisory controller display.
If you try to copy from slot 1 to slot 2, you may get a "Range Error" due to the physical size of the
TID-III card (takes up two slots in the channel shelf.)
The physical size of the TID-III Data Channel Module prevents it from being positioned on the left-
most slot on the channel shelf (Slots 1, 12, 23 or 39). Another channel card cannot be configured or
present to the immediate left of a configured TID-III channel slot.
You may copy the TID-III configuration to alternate card slots.

Mode Name
Description
Accuracy Tracking
When tracking an accurate clock with ±0.001 % rate offset
on the transmitting end, the total rate offset through the TID-
III on the receiving end is only ±0.003%.
Program Tracking
Allows the user to program the channel to control signal
input and output rate offsets and to optimize communications
for variable external clock characteristics.
Input Tracking
Supports communications where the input frequency may
vary up to 1.5% due to external clock inaccuracies.
ECH-11
Mode 4 emulates the operation of an ECH-11 channel.
Emulation Mode
Automatic Tracking
Mode 5 allows automatic tracking for variable rate inputs up
Mode
to a specified maximum.
Unknown
To be supplied.
