DISPLAYING CONFIGURATION DATA

Displays of each of your system's MEGAMUX PLUS configurations are available through the
Modify/Display TDM Configuration display. Each display reports the channel parameters select-
ed for each channel in the configuration.
To select a display, select the appropriate Modify/Display TDM Configuration routine from the
Configuration Menu. The Display TDM Configuration Data routine reports the selected parame-
ters for each channel in the configuration.
Each display page shows the configuration of one shelf of channel modules (the shelves are num-
bered 1-4, top to bottom).
The shelf number and configuration name are displayed in the upper left hand corner of each dis-
play page. To display the next page, press the Return Key.

SAVING A CONFIGURATION

When you finish selecting channel parameters for a configuration, use Control X to return the
Modify/Display TDM Configuration menu to the screen. You may want to use the display rou-
tines (described in the following paragraphs) to check the configuration changes. After displaying
the revision configuration, return the Modify/Display menu to the screen. Position the cursor at
the SAVE CHANGES item in the menu. To save any new channel parameters, press the Return
key; a message appears on the status line:
CONFIGURATION TEST IN PROGRESS
This message indicates that the system is running a framing check to determine if the configura-
tion may be framed with the new channel parameters. If the sum of the channel bandwidths is
greater than the selected rate, the message:
ILLEGAL CONFIGURATION NO REMAINING BANDWIDTH
HIT RETURN KEY TO CONTINUE
is displayed. If some other problem with the configuration renders it unframable (such as an ab-
surd frame, with one 75-baud channel in the entire configuration) the system reports the unframed
channels, and asks:
SAVE FAULTY CONFIGURATION? Y/N
A false frame alarm will no longer be generated when a 75-baud channel is configured in a frame
that has 1.6 MHz or more of remaining band-width.
If you save the configuration, be sure that it is never activated. If the faulty configuration is acti-
vated, the unframed channels will not operate.
If the configuration is framable, or if you save a faulty configuration, the following message is
displayed in the status line:
CFG MEMORY WRITE IN PROGRESS
When the message is replaced by standard status line directions, the new configuration is stored
in non-volatile memory. While you are saving configurations, entering a Control-C (<Ctrl-C>) is
ignored until execution is complete to avoid problems that may occur when writing to non-vola-
tile memory. The Modify/Display TDM Configuration Menu returns to the screen; you may per-
form another function related to that configuration, or return to the main Configuration menu by
using Control X.
